use your search tool-Avet LX-2.
other than that, no reviews necessary IMO, not the best money can buy, but the best MY money can buy! This LX-2 is becoming my favorite reel quite quickly. smooth as he11, dependable, lighter than most, affordable, etc. I do wish it could make 30# drag, & I wish it had harness lugs buy one -Brian |

I've had the lx for 1.5yr.s using it for jigging . The handle
baring failed after 1 year but was fixed by avet for free. I heard they first came out with barings from china, they have resolved this issue. I have only landed tuna to 50lb. on this reel and I believe drag would become an issue on 90lb. fish, but possible. as far as reel lugs I installed an aftermarket bracket but took it off as it wasn't necessary with new rod ( sea magic dragon fly 200grm. ) |

It is not an Accurate Twin Drag, but it is a great little reel. I have landed some nice fish on my Avets, no negative comments here, however I only have the 2 speeds, but I would assume the single speeds would work just as well. Very smooth powerful reel, I just got back from pitch baiting Stripe Marlin in Baja with my LX.

so the lx 6/3 2 speed is a decent reel semi wallet friendly and is capable of landing up to 100 pound yft i will not be catching anything larger than that on this reel so lets say that reel matched with an oti rod should i go short with the 5'6" or go with the 6'

I have mine on a SeaMajic 400g jigging rod, & I'm very happy w/ it
lots of good rods to put under that reel, depends how you're primarily going to use it.now you've got to handle some rods but you probably won't know until you jig w/ both. My jigger is 5'6", but if you're a bigger guy, 6' may work better for you -Brian Last edited by lite-liner : 06-27-2007 at 05:59 PM. |

I thought they only grew that big in Texas, not Connecticut! You're just a little bigger than I am! ![]() |
