I think this is an isolated thing, friend of mine in Malaysia have the same reel, no problem on his yet.

Some one need to buy one more of this reel and test it out, just like I did.

That's right, hopefully we'll get to test it on GEM next weekend!

For those that don't know, I bought a 50 size reel from Coleman's Supply for $250 including shipping.

I've got 130# JB hollow and will see how she holds up. Coleman's website states that they have a manufacturer that built these to Coleman's specs.

Will post a report.

TJ,
What was the reel brand? Seems to have nothing to do with Accurate Fishing reels I've heard of.

Jep,

The brand is ATC not an Accurate US made high quality reel.

ATC is made in KOREA.

the blackfin tuna was about 12 to 15 lb fish.

I heard ATC come out with improved version of this particular reel.
I also heard their new jigging reel come with carbon fibre drag instead of cork drag. ohh did I mention it's narrow too. but don't get too excited about it like I did on their jig hunter. I got burned.
