Hey TJ,

Great info about The Big E!

She definitely is, IMO, the best platform for fishing the GOM (besides the Phat Cat!!!)

Great site and thanks for the invite.

Let me know if I can help you in any way to make this site a success.

Take care.

Tom

i am very satisfied with fishing from the big e. it is one of the few boats that i have been able to sleep on while offshore. the captain and crew have always gone beyond my expectations to make sure we have had a great trip. to my knowledge it is the finest boat we have on the gulf for deep water tuna fishng and deep dropping. hopefully the operations in galveston and port aransas will follow captain elliots lead and upgrade their fleets to meet the every increasing demand for deep water tuna trips in the gulf from a platform that is user friendly and comfortable to be on for long periods of time....rick

Ditto to what Rick said. The big E is the fastest, newest, most accomodating boat we have on the Gulf coast. There is nothing even close!

I want to compliment the Captain and crew on the Big E. I had the pleasure of fishing the TBB. I could not find much to complain about on this trip. I have read many posts and could see where a charter enhanced this trip over a walkup type of excursion. I could see where gaffing skills could improve, but I would rather have my fish with a hole than no fish, at all. Oh yeah, bring your own dvd's, lol. Excellent trip. We did catch a load of yft, so that made it even better.

The Elliott's website is showing that the new 2007 schedule and pricing is available and that they will start taking reservations on November 2nd.

The website also shows possible trips to the Midnight Lump in February and March, trips are pending, but the possibility is exciting.

The Big E's tuna trip scheduled for today was cancelled due to not enough fishermen (29). Does anybody know how many times they have actually gone out for these tuna trips this year?

I'm surprised they don't consider 29 enough to make a trip.

Did the boat give you that number of anglers?

If you were booked on it, man I feel for you!

What kind of advanced notice did they give you and was this the three day trip? Was the notice at least 24 hours or did they cancel the trip on the same day it was to depart.

I went on a 3-day big E trip a couple of months ago and I believe we only had 26 people. We were told back then that as long as they had over 20 people, they would make the trip.
