Does anyone know if the Capt John is still up and running? Also, I never see the 50hr trips on the schedule...do they do those?

When the Pelican first ran floater trips they only had the benches on the side. Now they have bunk racks on the sides and down the middle. They boat sleeps 12. During the summer they take the racks out. Both the Pelican and the Gulf Eagle sleep 12. The trips are not as comfortable as the Big E but fish better. The reason is with only 12 fishermen everyone can throw poppers, or chunk, or jig. On the Big E trips with 36 there is no way everyone can do the same thing. I enjoy the Big E trips but prefer the DSH trips for fishability.

VaRandy, this trip is out of Galveston. Their link is Capt. John - Galveston, Texas ::: charter fishing, party boat. For the price is worth the trip. Since Big E is not running as of right now, there are not many options.
