Anyone going on this trip? I think I will go 95%. I would like to go on the 76 hour since it is my birthday (25) on July 4th, but cannot make it as I'll be in PA.

If you are coming from out of town let me know, you can probably stay at my house. I'm about 45 min from the boat.

You guys better listen to GS. The BigE is not wet, has great showers and it's Texas (Texans go to hell to cool off)

We are bringing foul weather gear just for precaution. I don't think we plan to wear them while fishing. Only if the seas/weather get bad enough that we need them.

My goal is to catch a YFT on jig/popper and catch a 3 digit YFT this trip. The new stella got a few good runs last trip but it needs more. The saragosa still sat untouched as it's my popping reel. Hopfully all my gear gets some play this trip. Also bringing a avet 30w on big standup rod I'm going to try to use for railing.

Did they say how much the fuel surcharge was going to be for the 52hr trip? I was thinking of going but I want to see how much it is? Steve

GS is correct. Wear lite clothes. T shirt and bathing suit or those drip dry fishing shorts and shirt. We had a great fishing trip May 2 and had 8-10 ft seas first part of trip. Made a bait stop, and two rig fishing stops on the way out. Still got to the floaters to deck a bunch of YF's. The boat is dry and good fishing even in heavy seas.

Seas predicted to be 2-5 feet. You guys are going to have a great time. You may want to consider a 2 speed chunking/live bait rig in case the popper and jigging gods aren't cooperating.

The Big E can be wet in seas when running at cruising speed.

.
I am at Newark Airport, NJ. Continental charged me $25 for checking-in two bags. One rod case and one jig case.
I should have sent jigs and poppers to Bret. The rod case length limitation is also changed from 7' to 6'2".

I don't bring any bait setups at all as I am afraid I might consider chunking/live bait as an option. I live with jigging/popping or I die with jigging/popping on this trip.
