A.whitman: That seamajic rod is a whole lot of rod for the money. I was impressed. I wouldn't hesitate a second to buy one. George

Dragon Fly and Stradic was nice setup especially with the lighter knife jigs. A little shorter (5'6"?) might have been better for my taste. But no complaints with that setup at all.

Only issue was the hook holder just above and to left of foregrip. It kept catching loops in the line. I was able to pull it out from under the windings without damaging them after I got home. But it happened at least a dozen times when fishing.

Bar-Bar short stroker was awesome too! I tried bottom bouncing with hammered diamond and 280gm flat side Shimano, but couldn't get a big boy to really test it.

Jason

George, since my semicustom barefoot rod with you.
You can have that rod, just paired it with your reel.
I know is cheap rod but better than 8' cobia rod for jigging all day

Spineyman,
If you keep on inviting guests on board and let them know in advance they need to donate tackle, rods, reels etc, besides gas $ your collection should be looking good in no time at all with fishing like that. I'll start digging for some to bring tonight.
