Guys, If I remember right, it was posted on another board first, and snapped up by phone within a few minutes of the posting here. I don't think it's fair to give someone a hard time because you missed a sale. The buyer and seller are good friends and both great guys.
Now if someone doesn't bargain in good faith and cheats you, then beat them up and let us all know about them. Tom - DBG |

DBG: Not only that, but without regard to whether it had been posted anywhere else or not, drshark was under no obligation to sell the stuff to any body. All he posted here was at best a solicitation for offers. He could also have sent STX-Fisherman and half the people on this board different offers and posted an ad in the New York Times and specified that he wouldn't sell it to Uncle Russ because he thinks he's an idiot.
Seriously, HDC...I wouldn't feel more than mildly disappointed. I find you have to get up real early in the morning and check every 5 minutes to beat somebody else to a deal on this board. Personally, I wanted to make an offer on some of that as well and when I saw that that no good, miserable, undeserving STX had bought the whole kit and kaboodle, I was disappointed. But actually, it was a blessing in disguise--I ain't got no more money.Russ

He bought some property in AR or TN and is switching his attention from bluewater to bait (fly fishing for trout in freshwater and specs and reds in salt). You know he's has always been more than a little off. km Last edited by txseadog : 06-09-2008 at 09:14 PM. |

I think the reason is that when he had to fight a marlin ,about 500 lbs, in PV he kept begging for someone else to take the rod. McGolpher and I just sat and watch him suffer. All the time we were saying --YOU HOOK EM YOU REEL IT IN. We did pour water over his head once or twice.
