I would assume based on your statement that you have not actually used them to land a big fish. I have used the old trevella to good use with up to 50 lb yft on a torium 16 and no fight was longer the 10 - 15 minutes. These rods are underrated. If you have used them then I stand corrected, in which case please let me know how they have let you down.

I have tried the new MH vesions or the "F" series and they are fun for inshore fish. I actually have the spinning that I am keeping. I have also used the XXH and landed tuna on it no problem to 70 lbs. They have a limitation but are great rods if used for the right application

Its all in the reel

Glenn is right. The rod is great for inshore jigging or bait fishing.
It is a real bargain for $100.
Glenn, you must give up all inshore fishing after you catch mako, striped marlin and blue marlin.

Kilsong,

You made me laugh, you are right after that last trip I should go buy a lottery ticket too. The only thing that was missing was Anthony. He is still sore at me. Historically I grew up on an offshore boat ...first fish was a small tuna. I have never been an inshore guy but I did promise Dom that I would try toggin and fluking with him. I even tried Bass fishing last year.

I have sooo much gear that every once and awhile I need to clean out and I hate to haggle prices so I just put out a more than fair price to get it over with

Glenn, if you like to go striped bass fishing, don't sell the rod.
The rod is perfect for striped bass.
