There were some stainless bridge sleeves floating around on ebay in the last 6-8 months.

Thanks for the info.

A source for the stainless steel gear sleeve for Jigmasters is Alan Tani. A friend of his was producing those. I got a couple for my 506HS and 505HS. Nice to know that heavy cranking on a fish won't result in the stock brass sleeve rounding out with a big fish on. (Yes, I still have my jigmasters; totally bulletproof and easy to maintain! )

These are just a part of the fix Muddskipper. I looked through my bookmarks but could not find what I sought...
I think that there is a charter Capt in Hawaii that posted some great tips for upgrading these spinners.

That said, these reels are still not in the same class as the Stellas, Saltigas and Twinspins...

Thanks for the name ahistick.

I've fished with Capt Jeff in Kona a couple of times. He is a jigging fool. He was the first person to introduce me to Japanese style jigging. This was probably 5 or 6 years ago. He is the only guy in Kona that loves to bottom fish with jigs. Most of his customers are from Japan and they always leave him a jig or two. They also always bring their own equipment.

He is a real tight arse. His equipment at the time was second rate, but it got the job done. He will work very hard to catch you some fish. He will also not get upset if you want to release your fish. If you ever go to Kona and want to do a jigging trip, he's the guy.
