The important thing to understand with mono to hollow is that you cannot skimp on the length of your insertion due to "creep" when the mono stretches and thins repeatedly when fighting a fish. The more you pre-tension the mono when serving the less creep you will have. professionally served leaders use I think 25 lbs of pressure with a jig and weights before serving. If you use none, then you need 4-5 feet of insertion to be safe.
