Spectra Splicing
Hi guys I just had 800 yds of berkley 80# hollow with room for 50 yards 60# topshot put on my 30wlrsa and put a bimni in it. I need to know what knot to use to connect 60# hi test to the 80 hollow so it will pass through 50-80 class rollers and get the most out of the lines strains. Thanks again.

I have not tried the Berkley hollow core. I respect Snagged's opinion. He says that this brand hollow core is easy to splice.
You want to pull an end loop into that spectra. This will be more reliable than a bimini twist and have a smaller profile. The best instructions for this are found on www.bhptackle.com Basil can provide you with a topshot of your desired mono that you can join with a simple loop to loop join. I you just have to use a knot.... albright, reverse albright, worm knot, no-name knot would be a good place to start. |

get the needles and run the mono up into the hollow.... a tactic everyone should learn... only took me 5 hours.... LOL!!! I did it without the needles... i put a nice pointy nose on the mono with a fillet knife.
