Sea Magic rods
Anyone have any expierence with these rods? I bought a couple awhile back for my LXs but haven't gotten to get them wet yet. I'm in the need for more rods for my SDS, SX, and a pair of 4/0 2 and before buying 4 more of these rods I was curious if anyone out there had any first hand expierence with them. To me, I really like the price, and also Islander Tackle is a short drive for me and they sell them, but I don't want to let convience weight too heavily on the purchase of them.

They seem to be nice rods. I am not trying to give OTI a shameless plug, but they are able to start selling blanks and rods. I have seen these rods and know they have gone to great lengths to make a good product. You would also know your producer first hand. However, I am not sure if they will be making a rod suited for your SDS.

the 3 rods that offshore tackle international have in production are a spinner, medium jigger and heavy jigger. for that avet sds i would suggest a seeker blank or something similar. i assume that you will be using this rig for amberjacks, groupers and maybe chunking for tuna......rick

I've got four of the Sea Magic rods, three Dragon Flys and one Tuna Hunter Special. They seem pretty nice for the price. The Tuna Hunter Special spinner is a little on the heavy side and has lost one of the eyelet inserts after only one trip though. I may try to upgrade to one of the OTI popping rods and down size from the Stella 20k to an 8k for alot lighter combo. TXSeaDog here on the board built me a sweet roller rod for my SDS on a Seeker blank. It would be tough to beat at the price he charges!

thats one thing he told me that impressed me that they would replace guides and etc for free on them. They also went to say if you broke it under normal fishing conditions they would replace it free; also said that if you, for example, run over it with your truck and break it they would sell you another one at 50% off.
