The Shimano T-Curve's are designed by Mller but certainly aren't comparable to his custom offerings. I think they're an great rod for the price - if only Shimano weren't so tight and underbound the guides! I'm amazed that they're making jig rods to 37kg, going to the expense of using SiC guides and they're not underbinding.

I've been very impressed by the Fremantle and am currently looking for another jig rod for 37 kg and that's why I was inquiring about the Nirai previously. It is not a coincidence that the Fremantle has become the favourite jig rod of all my friends as well. They're only scared off by the price! It weighs nothing and has awesome power down low.

Sambo season has started!!!

I am sure there is underbinding, like some new styles in Japan, the underbind is wrapped only in the area where the guide feet sits. Some say this is to further reduce weight or simply for the looks.

I have to do a sambo trip sometime, maybe next season.

Randy - if you're coming over for the Sambo trips, try to give yourself some time in Perth. It is not unusual for the weather to get wild over in this part of the world (Perth feels like the other side of the world from Sydney!) and for the boats to to go out so you want to give yourself enough to ensure you get out there. It'd be a shame ot come all the way to Oz and not be able to fish!

The fishing is amazing once you strike the sambo schools. Once they're on, its like a strike every drop of the jig.

your Fremantle coupled with a Stella 20000 and PE8 will be perfect for this type of fishing.
