4oz wont get you to grouper water off the gulf coast on most days.

Anybody know of a reliable 8 ounce grouper jig with strong hooks?

I went to a seminar that Tim Barefoot did in January and he had some new jig designs for you guys in the GOM. They were 7 and 11 oz models with all circle hooks. He called them the squid dekoy jig. Nice looking stuff. I tie my own "pirate" dekoys on unfinished jigs I get from George Kellar. Much cheaper(barefoots are $10 and I can tie them for less than $4) and more durable because I use thread instead of a skirt band.I am sure you could get some 8 oz blanks if wanted to tie your own.

Not to toot my own horn, but I make a decent Grouper jig.
My circle hook jig technique is working well and evolving with testing.
Fun stuff.
Email me if you would like info or know what you want.

Good looking jigs at a good price. Nice website but some better fish pictures with your jigs in action may help you out. No Double J in 6oz? Any plans on an 8oz?

Matt, You have come a long way from the few you sent me to give a spin. I'm still looking for another jig in the orange and yellow skirt like you sent me last time. Everything in the gulf hit the thing that day.

I have found Stuart Stalkers to have very high quality jigs. They don't scrimp on the hooks, and you can actually do some semi-custom stuff with them.

I do need to update and add some action photos of the jigs. Never seem to have a free hand when the bite is on. Maybe put some video up. Site is still in the larval stage. Will have heavier jigs soon.
George, PM me with address and I will hook you up.
