When I talked to TJ yesterday he said he thinks the reel can hold more than 300yds of the OTI 80lb so that's why I ordered 400yds. Even though I can convert m to feet pretty easily, it is still nice that this line is marked in yds

Bret, I have colored line and I have never counted how far I dropped!! I just like seeing the diffierent colors peel off. Blue-green-orange-red-yellow... ok time to retireve. It breaks up the boredom and I am willing to pay a premium for that . Besides, it looks like I know what I am doing. THe spool on the OJ is marked and paying attention to the spool marking is pretty reliable. On the Big E, I would pay more attention if their depth finder TV was still working.

it depends on the kind of jigging you are doing. if you're in 1000 feet and the captain says he is marking fish at 160 feet then it helps. i've jigged plenty without the benefit of marked line so i just wnt to see how much of a difference it makes.

it is very likely both lines are made by the same people. i would assume the avani max power and ultra jigman both with there smaller diameter will run into the same problem. i havent heard any feedback on the avani max power yet.
