we catch 450+ sharks on the 20K stellas with no problem at all. However, with jigging, there's always the possibility that you're fishing at 200+ feet and then fish will dive for the bottom.

trying to reel a fish back up with a 5:1 reel will get old reel soon. that's where the low gear comes in handy. also if the fish is hooked near the top but sounds right to the bottom, it's a lot easier to get it back up in low gear.
