Hollow to solid spectra connection

Can you splice spectra to spectra like you could normal mono/floro to hollow core? The reason I ask is when I originally spooled my LX's I only put 300 yards of 65# Jerry and topped it with mono. I'm wanting to get rid of the mono now and fill the reels completly with Jerry and put floro on top. Would it just be easier to tie the two together? I know I should probably just pull the 600 yards off of the two I have now an start fresh with hollow all the way through but I really don't want to chunk 6 month old line in the trash can, esp when it is as high as JB.

To connect braided line to braided line, the uni to uni knot is strong enough.
I always use the uni to uni knot to connect 300 yard of braided line with color coded PE line without single problem.
The profile of the connection of two braided line is very low.

Alright thanks I figured I would be able to get by with just tying them together. I'm a huge albright fan for mono-spectra, have you tried it for spectra to spectra?

I had a failure to connect heavy braided line and mono line using uni to uni knot, but I never had a problem to connect braided line and braided line using the knot. I know many guys like Albright knot though I don't use it because it failed once. Make sure you apply glue on the knot. It make a big difference.

65# JB solid can be spliced like hollow core. I used 27 lb wire doubled to pull the 65 lb. You have to carefully push the spectra onto the wire. Pay close attention to any twisting of the spectra just in front of the wire loop. Keep it straight.

I do not see me doing this in a hot bite. I'll tie a knot.

They use it on some of the long range boats where they slip on this crimp and crimp the spectra to mono. It seems easy enough and they have made a starter kit, scroll down to the bottom of the page

I just tie it with single lines.

I have Sato Crimper, but I don't use it as I don't have confidence with it and I don't like metal object go through guides even they are small.
I had an experience that three guides were damaged when a small swivel I used hit the guides when tuna charged under the boat. But it is just my subjective opinion as many guys love the system.

I've never used it but I was intrigued with it as it seemed simple, fast and easy to do while on the water.
