hi :)
hi all, new to this board
damm it sux to see how much i have been missing all this time trolling and trolling.. I think im hooked into jigs and poppers now. Last winter got my 1st yft on a popper and felt great! I am a newb in this kinda of fishing and have been looking around for a good spinning/jigging reel but damm they are to expensive any of you guys know where I can get a good deal? (lets say 300$ max) looked into some cheaper one like torium and saltist, dunno if they are any good some links to jigs(and info as well, colors, styles, etc) would be greatly aprreciated. Where i fish the tunas are small, getting as big as 35kgs max i would say. fishing around 60 to 200 m deep. Really interested in the doggies fishing as I got a bigger boat now and theres a spot to get this fellows i can go to, just dont have the tackle and skills(jigging ) yet.Anyway, waiting for some tips from the pros ![]() Last edited by mozambik : 10-23-2006 at 06:24 AM. |

I assume you are looking for a spinning reel... For $300, I would recommend the Twinpower 8000PG of Saltiga Blast 4500, they are proven reels. Are you from Mozambique? Randy |

welcome to the site. most of the middle priced spinners seem to hold up fairly welll but big fish will take its toll on them. we had 2 penn 9500 fail on my trip this weekend. also had a shimano thunnus drags burn up. however the guys that spent the bucks for the stella's and used them for the first time were really impressed with their smoothness and casting ability....rick

Hi, I haven't fished there but I am going for a GT popping trip in Feb to Kilwa, Tanzania Feb next year. I am sure the fishery in Mozambique is just as good. Randy |
