With mono I always put the bulk spool on a spinning rack and stick it under water in an ice chest. A guide taught me this a while back. It makes the line pack tighter and with much less twisting.
I have not tried this method with braid yet. I am fixing to run 130lb jb hollow onto a bottom reel. I'll give it a shot and let you know how it works. |
