Seadog: Thanks for the link. I looked at those a while back--I think my choice would be to go with the 80 pound option and pay them a little more to leave off the topshot but put on another hundred or so of braid.
Gunsmoke: If I do buy a separate chunker, I will definitely go with the narrow. I already have the ATD 50W for weight-lifting purposes. By the way, you have really screwed things up for me. Usually when I get involved with a forum (e.g., UT football, canoe racing, or such) I get to be the most outrageous SOB on the planet. I even thought about taking on that role when I got over here--but thank God I didn't even try. Competing with you would be like letting your girlfriend see you naked beside John Holmes. And besides, when I tell my stories, I have to lie. Russ

Jig,
Mine is the narrow and has impressive cranking power. I've rigged mine with 130 JB hollow and a twent-five yard 80# flouro topshot on a 6455xxh. I was impressed when it pulled up a small shark (3 footer) with two pounds of lead and another guys 30# AJ with another two pounds of lead without any effort. Russ, I have the Tiagra 16 also and like it for chunking or general fishing. The 16 is my goto rig until I figure out the bite. BTW: The 50SDS is on my list to get.
