Kevlar hollow cord is the way to go it's much more abrasion resistant than other lines western filament makes the best I have found.

normally the only two assist hooks i use are the OTI hooks and the Shout Power Assists. In lieu of those I may make my own with the Kevlar and Siden hooks.

If you want to try the Jerry Brown hollow line You can get it here in shorter lengths. Hollow Spectra :: BHP Tackle Basil might sell you some shorter than those listed if you asked him.

I use Siden hooks and 200-400lb assist cord when needing to replace.

check out this thread scroll a ways down. I learned how to tie my assist hooks this way and its work extremely well for me

Looks like APS is out of all 3 sizes of Kevlar. Anyone know of another source for something like what they have (had)?
