I always wondered how I would do against a 600lb blue gill.
The first stripe Marlin I caught was abouit 180 and I got it to the boat in about 5 min. !0 years later I caught a 170 lb and it took me over a half hour. That was ten years ago. I'm not sure I want to catch a big blue or the giant tuna anymore.
I would rather go after Dodo's on 5-10lb test.
But if I do catch a big blue, I still want to do it in an open small boat. Like the last blue I caught was about 200lbs. It was fun and to feel the boat react to the fish was cool. A little like the old man and the sea.
Some of the best big game fishing you can do is from a ponga in bay of the dead in Northern East Cape.
I may want to get a big one off a ponga then sleep for about three days.
