i still need to add eyes, split rings, hooks, and a clear coat of paint. The top bait has a blue-glow paint all on the bottom of it. It has a stainless wire that runs thru the bait(including the swivel in the midsection). If the bait breaks, the fish stays connected to the line.

Bazz--
I am back in business. I showed the Ugly tuna bait to another customer of mine that makes custom knives. He told me he could shape the lure in less than 10 minutes. It looks great now. ( still needs sealing , paint and topcoat, but I have other people for that). He also has a supply of laminated and exotic woods. I will post some pics when I get done. SKRonnie-- What is the purpose of the back end swivel ? You are still going to have a split ring back there , right ? Waiting for Oct MO |

I bet the'll catch plenty of fish! If you've ever see the old unpainted cedar plugs soaked is fish oil (one of the ugliest trolling lures) outperform fancy plastic! There is no subsitute for catching fish on home made lures! Make sure you keep a few of your originals for old time sake.
