First trip out - Venice, LA
Hey guys,
Me and 3 buddies are going on our first tuna trip and want to get a heads up of what to expect/bring. I've been told I should bring a popper and jigger but then again the variety of them limits to what I want to buy. We have no idea of color/weight. I thought about just forgetting about it and just follow the captains suggestions! If any of you guys can chime in to help make this a trip we won't forget, please do! |

If your going in January you will be fishing an area called the lump. He will be chunking at that time of the year, which is a great time to fish there becuase all teh big boys are around. I would bring 1 jigging and popping set up just incase other than that i would assume you will be using bent but 50ws

Oh ya, bad! I'm no MrBill, & I don't really have duplicates of anything but lures, but I do have 1 of almost everything, including a new boat.
I'd say I'm @ about full, but I still want a couple rods: Zenaq FC-83-5 Calstar GFG-700h ( for that damn Accurate 665 I just HAD to have..) And some new electronics: Lowrance LCX-37 chd- $1300 for that! And a trip to Tanzania, Kenn reef, Seychelles, Fiji, Oman, Cowtown, 3 kings, etc, ad nauseum. it never stops, man. it's a quest for angler nirvana, that's the best I can come up with..... |
