Rick picked up the new Accurate 870 2-speed tonight and that is potentially one of the best jigging reels ever.
It only holds 325 yards of 65# spectra, but it's bullet tough, casting control, 2 speed, and about 44#s of drag. |

I saw a post on another board from Rick O, one of the Avet Reps, and he mentioned that the HooX would be on display at the Fred Hall Show in Long Beach, I think that's next weekend, but would be available in mid April.
But that Accurate 870 2-speed, now that's an awesome sounding jigging reel! Rick, let us know how that thing casts too. I probably won't buy a new reel for a while, but sure have seen some nice reels come out! At breakfast this morning Snagged brought along the OTI Poppers and Jigs he got, they look pretty awesome, and are set up right! Tom - DBG |

I was fishing all day Friday, how about you? We have excuses for not fishing, such as the girls are nude on the beach, the water it too rough, the girls on the beach are horny, the water is too cold and those Aggie boys are only looking for other boys and the girls want men. ![]()

Thanks Tom.
I love the jigging rod already and so does my friend gimmedeal (Fred). That front grip really feels comfortable in my hand. I like the jigs to and will break them in right at the end of the month. Got my Kaikons spooled at FTU when I left the show. All I could do not to go fishing right then. I hope I didn't take your last demo jigging rod, just couldn't wait another month. I think you guys are putting together some quality products. I'll be looking for the package and it was nice to put faces to the names I always see and you'll be hearing from me soon when your site is in full swing. Wayne |

I just checked the new Accurate 870 2-speed.
When I tightened the drag, I coulnd't move the drag lever as it happened to prototype Avet Hoo-X. 8@ So I asked tackle shop owner to fill some line on the reel and tested again. On about 25 drag, moving drag lever is pretty smooth, turning handle is also very smooth and it doesn't lose much free spool !!! I guess I should have tested the Hoo-X with lines on. :x I am afraid I gave a wrong impression on Hoo-X. I am going to test Hoo-X again with lines on when they are available. The round knob of the new 870 is more convenient than one speed 870 or 665 handle. But, the line capacity they advertised seems wrong. It looks the reel can hold about 250 yard of 30 lbs mono or less than 300 yard of 80 lbs braided line. I feel the Accurate 870 and 665 2-speed are going to be a big winner. |
