Taking the Kids Part II Proposal

As some of you guys know, I teach biology and use incentives to motivate students. I always take the top kids fishing or camping. The students know I am an offshore fisherman as well and they are constantly asking me to tell them stories. One kid went to Cabo for Christmas and caught some football yft and loved it. Most can't afford this type of trip, so I started thinking about a Gulf coast trip for snapper or kings. However, my boat can't make the voyage offshore, therefore, I have a proposal.

Would someone be willing to take a small group of students fishing this summer? Here are the incentives and disclaimers:

The school's insurance would cover any accident.

You could write off the trip as a tax deduction.

You would be turning on a high school student to offshore fishing.

You get a good feeling by doing this.

I know it is asking a lot and I am not put out in the slightest by someone turning down the offer. It would be great if I could organize two boats. I would like to offer a trip to the top four average high grades for the year and another to the top four percentage increases in grades for the year. This way it gives the students with Cs an incentive to work harder and the top students an incentive to beat the others. This would have to be off Texas. Any takers?

what about a headboat trip for snapper, AJ, bottom fish?.......... i'd drop a $20 bill in an envelope, mail it ya in a hearbeat, and challenge everyone else around here to do the same

if that should become an option for ya and the administrators of this site will allow ya collect some money this way, i'll slap a stamp on that envelope today

i could take you and 4 kids out on my boat but to-tell-ya-the-truth, the logistics would be a nightmare....... as you prolly know, i'm all-the-way down at SPI and that's a helluvva long trip to make and run the risk of gettin screwed cuz o'rough seas

plus i'd really be wanting some help on the fuel and ice required cuz i ain't rich...... also i don't snapper fish and the only snapper holes i know are way out where i troll for big game (about a 200 gallon fuel burn for a day trip)

that, and i don't think i could come up with a 2nd boat either

if this thread gets buried and i don't see it again or come back to it, PM me if the envelope thingy idea turns into sumpin'...... hell maybe you could even collect enough to fuel my boat for a trip-r-two!

also, you didn't give any date as to when you'd like to this..... so FWIW, i live 700 miles from my boat and i won't be going to visit it until around june (for about 6 months)

[quickest pic i could come up with to give you an idea of the size o'my boat]

Thanks guys. Hopefully, this is feasible for someone. You are right Astronut, a few pieces of steel leader and a 10-15 mile run for some jacks, kings or sharks is all it takes.

Thanks for the idea Billfisher. A collection for a trip with UE on a day trip or a fuel bill collection for your boat isn't a bad idea at all. I can get us to any port within the state. No need for a long run. Just start a chum line and let the trash fish pile into it. Kings and sharks are a dime a dozen.
