Anybody tried their Gloabalstar sat phone in the Gulf in the last month? Wondering if their coverage has improved since the beginning of June.

Nextel will work, atleast in some places. Got a call from my boss when we were well offshore. I don't carry it any more because of that event. The Globalstar wouldn't pick up a signal last time out. I heard they put up new sats in May but didn't know if they were online yet. Bert

i may drop my nextel in the deep blue on the way out, let 'em try and get a hold of me then, they can talk to some rig donkeys if they need something important!
