Sale at Roy's ....

I ambled into Roy's (CC) this afternoon and saw that they have a big "Tuna Fever" sale going on.

Avet reels 10% off, Calstar Rods 25% off, OTI jigging rods 20% off....and the list goes on.

Get 'em while they're hot! ....

Why don't one of you CC tunaheads check out Roy's Thursday. Give a report what's on sale besides the avets. I want to know if it's worth me driving for two and 1/2 hours. Is this their annual tent sale?

Mr. Bill.....I'm pretty sure that this is not the annual tent sale....(they actually have a tent sale twice/year), and they usually have the sale on a Friday/Saturday.

I think that there might be some good buys on Seeker, Calstar rods, Avets...and maybe some Shimano reels. I won't have time to go to Roy's tomorrow, but I'm sure we will be there after breakfast on Saturday. Can give you an update at that time.

There are signs throughout the store proclaiming ...."the tuna are gathering behind the shrimpboats and we'd like to help you have the gear you need to catch them!.... They must be hitting different shrimpers than I've been hitting. Anyway, there is a lengthy list of products that are on sale. Basically all reels and most rods except for Shimano. Quantum reels are 20% off and Penn I think was 15% off.

I actually went in there to see if they had received their shipment of Momoi Diamond line which is now 10% off too .... but they hadn't. I need 40#, 50# and 60#. Looks like I'm gonna have to make a cyber order to get it in time for my 48 hour trip coming up.

That Momoi hollow braid is pretty awesome...we worked with it a few weeks ago and it seems to allow you to put a needle through it much easier than other hollow braids. The needle seemed to just slip right through once you got it started. I fed a 3-4 ft. piece of line with a needle pretty quickly. I hope that they get the product out to market soon!

Papio .... I am on a 48 on the Pelican October 22 and another on the same boat November 19.

I didn't look at tne Hi-Catch but it does seem to me like there was a lot of it there. Just the Diamond was scarce.

Richard, I think Roy's can spool the Momoi hollow braid on your reel for you can't they? I heard that is the only way it is available now.

Thanks to the CC guys for updating me on the sale. I only wish Roy would get his website running. This must be the time of year for raising cash for the tackle shops. If I made the drive I'd buy something I don't need. I still have never unpacked all the stuff I bought at Roy's tent sale last year. It's still in the bags in a closet. I forgot what I bought.

Finest Kind is having a 15% off on most Swordfish gear. Lindgren - Pitman LED full color spectrum lights, carbon steel swordfish hooks, Kristal reels and Seamaster LED lights. Use code PR1007-1 at checkout to get discount.

If the breakfast club meets on Sat and you guys go to Roy's, look to see if he has received the Accurate Twinspin 20. I heard they are starting to ship.
Thanks in advance.
