So, no point in bringing baits to tow; right? Just trying to bring the right stuff.

Jep is probably an exception, but Austin has so many lawyers, a lot of them starve. One old boy I know who has practiced quite a while, had a leak under his sink. He called a plumber and the plumber (ass crack showing and all) climbed under the sink, pulled out a wrench, and spent 5 minutes tightening a nut. He climbed out and said "That'll be a hundred bucks, Mister." The lawyer damned near screamed: "A hundred bucks for 5 minutes? That works out to twelve hundred an hour. That's more than I make, and I'll have you know I happen to be an attorney!" The plumber was unphased. "I should hope so," he said, "it sure is more than I made when I was an attorney!"

Snagged: You will find that a visit to your lawyer and a visit to your attorney can be very similar, especially if you are going in to have your colon checked.

By the way, the POS milk crate has received its final coat of Sikkens Cetol Marine teak finish. I would have added more coats if it was going to be a better product and I had more pride. Hardware and cheap-assed plastic rod holders are next. Hell, if I'd kept practicing law like Jep (or gone one step further and become snagged's proctologist), I might be installing stainless rod holders with actual gimbels.

Cheers,

Russ

1 troll bait in the box would not be "XS TACLKE"
maybe a Purple Maraduer, Man Strech or Jaw Breaker.

Once you figure out how Monty is driving the boat. Pulling up to the floaters
for a drift or a jacket platform for a day time drop. Why not take advantage of the last 300 - 400 yards of boat movement and drop a bait back.

Talk to the mate and let him know that you understand the 2 rules.

1 they won't stop to keep you from getting spooled
2 you will keep your lure out of the boats wheels

Come to think about it on a 3 day trip they might take time
to pull lures for a few laps around a rig.

A troll bait could even be a cedar plug or pencil popper. Plastic swim bait even.

But islander of maraduer would be in my box just in case.

Jep, Good to see you going out and posting again also.

Kev.

I was thinking about a green/black or purple/black 26 oz skirted catchy spinner head for wahoo or maybe a 26 cm Rapala Magnum SS--stuff I would not likely throw. But, then a marauder/Bonito sounds good, too. Oops, already on my way to another cubic yd of tackle.

And, I'm guessing that you don't signal "fish on" by banging the rail w/a steel wrench.

When they troll. They put 4-5 rigs along the back and everybody gets a 30 min shot watching his assigned rod. Other folks will be fishing your tackle if you put it out there. It's a waist of time. There are better ways to fish on the Big E. I got the only fish an AJ the first trip of the year. I hope they don't troll. I have only seen this twice. I fish the boat every two to 3 months.

Seems like you could pull lures like this C & H Lures - Mister Big - Blue / White - MB3

As long as it wasn't casuing the boat to stop often because of fouling etc.
