Funny you say that, my car was broken into when I went on my recent 52 hour. They tried to steal my radio but failed and did not take anything from my car. I had a GPS in my center console, cell phone, blue tooth and 2 coolers in the car. I am lucky.

DBG: Right on about the amount of gear. The biggest problem folks will have will be navigating around the POS Milk Crate--you ain't going over or through! The bad news about the unit is it ended up with only 2 rod holders--not much of a milk crate, you might say--the good news is that it will hold a LOT of tackle. How much tackle??? Well, let's just say that the USPS just assigned it its own zip code: 78799-9999. It is modular in nature--it will be carried empty up the stairs--then it will be filled by a relay of bags, carry-boxes, etc. etc. (Picture, if you will, the old Tarzan movies from the 'fiftes--long lines of bearers with huge crates of stuff on their heads and shoulders, stretching to the horizon.) The POS Milk Crate is like an erection lasting more than four hours--in order to avoid extreme injury to yourself or others, you have to take it in small doses.

Looking forward to meeting everybody and I wish I could say the same for the folks who will be meeting me.

We heard about the break-ins at FTU--our solution is twofold--first, we post a huge sign on the vehicle saying: "WARNING--MONSTER INSIDE." Then we just leave Fred (gimmedeal) asleep on the backseat. The bad guys may steal our $hit, but life on earth as they know it will change forever!

I called Underwater Expeditions, they don't have any Sherpas handy on Thursday! Dang the luck!

I'm going through my bags tonight and leaving everything behind that I really don't expect to use, hopefully I will get things a little lighter.

Unfortunately, I started thinking about the Flying Fish net... I may bring that along, luckily it collapses down pretty well if it's not needed.

Hell, bring that dog along--you may end up with more "friends" than flying fish.

On the subject of nets, does anyone have a large, heavy-duty dipnet that could be used release some of the smaller fish with minimal damage?

Bring it Gres. I really think it'd come in handy. Do you think it'd handle 30-40 lb YF? I don't think we should be keeping fish smaller than 50.

I have a large pier/bridge net, the biggest thing it has lifted was about a 100# shark
