Good crew all the way around. Miles was a good sport, but he was leaving around noon from the dock to go the hospital to get stitches. The other deckhand threw an elbow, and split his left eye wide open, below the eyebrow. Not a pretty place to have a big scar.
He kept fishing, and working. Never let it slow him down! |

They actually tied the bucket off on a Tiagra 50 with a much stouter rod than the one I'm holding in the picture. The boat was still moving and line was being stripped off the reel even at full drag. I was able to finally tell that something was up when the bucket cracked on the side and I was actually able to reel it in a little bit.
Rue got full video of the prank, so it'll be posted up here sooner or later. Last edited by rabidus : 02-05-2008 at 04:21 PM. |

I hope that they at least showed you how to use the easier of the two gears! |

What makes you think I didn't eat the still beating heart of my first (and only) YFT!?
There is video footage to prove it! Tom -- the reel was definitely in low gear when I was fighting that bucket, and I could still barely crank the handle -- haha! Last edited by rabidus : 02-05-2008 at 04:33 PM. |
