that's me!
Both boats were there at Boudreaux. They kept hounding the boats, and wanted them a minium of 1 mile away. finally about 5 am they told capt to leave or calling the coast gaurd. so before the greylight morning bite, we werent able to get back up to the rig. we had some small followers that broke wind at daylight. bunches of those little 30 pound YFT. this was on the Gulf Eagle.I popped my topwater tuna cherry with 3 @ 85 pounds each. One was caught in the bright afternooon sun.... Capt Keith and Capt Nate got to see it eat my bait. It hit and missed, then circled back after i short-popped it a few times and flushed the toilet on my popper!! FISH ON!

Got to meet Mr Smarr.. Nice fellow! Pleasure to meet and greet! He was at the dock when the boats tied up. we figured the guys on the rig were just jealous that they were working, and we were having a blast!! hehe... well they didnt win- because we still had a blast anyways! ![]() All my topwater tuna were caught on an OTI 7' rod that the guys gave me for the wedding present!! thanks TJ, Rick, and Tom!!! i used a spheros 14000 and cranked the drag to 22#. I didnt have to fight any of the big ones for longer than 10-12 minutes Crank and pull, never let em rest!!

Hey Tom
Thanks for the Ice Bro... Great to see Jerry, TJ & Rue, Tass, JT & Amy, Richard, Louis and we got to meet Jim Smar of the RFA! We had a blast breaking in 4 Newbies.. we had two guys from Montana who's idea of fishing was soaking minnows for Walleye.. they are officially ruint for life! They did real good on both the BFT & YFT Tuna! Randy and my neighbor Jack were YFT Killers by the end of the trip... Randy caught his on Poppers and Jack got his on chunks. We also had 3 larger fish caught on live flyers. We even got a rare visit from a 16ft Whale Shark! Randy has pictures we will share when they are posted on the TFF. Gulf Eagle Capt Keith and Nate kept the boat on fish... the Deck hands Clint and Miles kept the fish we hooked coming over the rails.. the whole crew worked their tails off for a great trip.. The Tuna 6 Crrew can't thank them enough. We had a boat limit of YFT lost count of the BFT and a few small AJ's one 36# Wasaw Grouper. We also a 26# Bull Dorado at night that hit a topwater Black Fin chunk as Jack reeled in for another drift. We had 6 or 7 that caught their first YFT on a Popper! The Black / Purple Yozuri GT, The Green OTI Komodo and Flyer pattern, Strike Pro Tuna Hunter Yellow/ Orange and the Frenzy Ballistic Flyer in Pink/ Glow were the hot baits on Top. I also want to thank everyone that made up the Tuna 6 Crew on the Gulf Eagle.. We worked together like a well oiled machine to keep the rails cleared when hot fish were running and every one geared up to maxumize fishing time... Salute! Bazz |

Biggest fish was Special K's in the 4th pic--97 pounds, after bleeding and setting in ice more than 24 hours. Bristow had a 90. I had an 85. The GE pulled in a limit of 39 yellowfin, the Pellican came in with 28, just 8 short of a limit, with the biggest going around 80. It was my first trip, and my first tuna ever was my 85 pounder, followed less than a half hour later by a 65...think I might be selling off some bass tackle!
