What gram is the 80lb blank rated for? Because that thing will pick up 30lb easy also.

which blank are you talking about Rich?

The blank that we tested at BPS was a brand new re-design blank with Japanese composite Pre-preg.
I brought 2 blanks on last Sunday BPS meeting, one is 600g rated for 60-80lb, 20lb drag will start to load this blank up but sweet drag setting will be 25-30lb, (more like 100lb blank or I would call it AJ killer).

The other one is 5'2", 400g, softer actions jigging blank, with lots of back bone (tuna killaaaaaaaa) 20lb-25lb drag will be sweet for this blank. We design this blank with big YFT tuna in mind.

Ah ok, I got the blank that was sold as 5'6 jigging rod 80lb.
