I lived in brooklyn exactly one mile from ebbets field. There was nothing like it . Half the city didnt go to work when the giants and dodgers got together for a series. And any kid worth his salt was trying to sneak into the stadium to watch the game .I dont want to bragg but I was one of the best at sneaking into ebbets field. Baseball was a way of life in New York . I was fortunate to play at ebbets field and had the opportunity to meet a lot of major league players. I also tried out for the Yankees for five days at the home that ruth built. I also played at the polo grounds when we had the sandlot baseball championships. Those are memories I will never forget.

If the atmosphere here was anything like it is in NY at our games i would be a season ticket holder... its just not the same here. I make a few astro games a year and it doesnt seem like the fans are really into the game... |
