Thumbs up Capt John Brennan wins 2nd leg of Los Suenos Tournament!!

I always enjoyed fishing with Capt Brennan. He introduced me to long range tuna and bluewater trips when he was captain of the Pelican at Deep Sea Headquarters. He won the second leg of the Los Suenos Tournament last week! Way to go Capt John!! I hope to fish with him in Costa Rica soon Fish Golfito, Costa Rica, Best Lodging and Fishing Guides in One Place!

Here is the link to the Los Suenos results http://inthebite.com/rt_tournament.php?id=149

I going down there for a week late December this year. I think John arrives before Christmas. I've already booked a boat for three days in the Puerto Jimenez area for jigging and popping. The guy is telling me that we should catch plenty of 50# roosters that time of year. Also he told me that it is common to run across schools of big YF's , some reaching in the 225# range. Grouper and snapper fishing is also very good for jigging in that area.

The drive from Los Suenos to Puerto Jimenez is a nasty 8 hour drive. I'm going to fly from Los Suenos as long as the Marriott confirms my dates. If I do end up at Los Suenos for a couple of days, I will try to book John for one day of billfishing. I'd love to tease them up and just toss swimbaits and pencil poppers to them. I've caught enough pacific sailfish using traditional methods to the point that it now bores me. I want something different.

TeamOso is an unknown quantity at this point
As I recently heard, if you can fish in Texas, with a little time to get used to a different area, a good Texas sportfisherman can dominate anywhere else.

Ditto Snagged!

Scott - Is that 2nd boat, Spanish Fly, the boat that belongs to Jose Wejebe?

MrBill - the rooster on topwater is one of my dreams!

Tom, I don't know about the Spanish Fly. I was wondering too. I bet the tournament would make a great TV show, so it wouldn't surprise me if it is and they filmed it.

Rooster on popper--now that would be fun.
