i have both models here, spool disassembled. 14000FA has 3 large felt washers, and the 18000fb has 5 smaller dartanium drag washers. i think heat dissipation will be better on the 5 smaller drags, and am changing them to carbontex.
the 14000FA handles very well with carbon fiber upgrade,too. its about to be listed for sale, as I found a stella to upgrade to.
