I finally found some time this evening to do some lifting tests. I put a Shimano Tiagra 50WLRSA on the CTSF55XXXH. It is spooled with 150 pound spectra. I am pleased to find out that I have mastered the 12 turn Bimini twist. I attached a 500 pound sampo ball bearing swivel with an two lap offshore swivel connection to the 12 turn Bimini.

Lifts were first made with 33 pounds of sash weights. I then added one gallon water jugs to the sash weights. Plastic water jugs hit the scales at 8.5 pounds per gallon. Therefore, I did lifts of 33, 41.5, 50 and 58.5 pounds. I tested the 50 pound lift with over 200 lifts to see if I could break the Bimini. It held like a champ.

The only reason I stopped lifting at 58.5 pounds was because that is about the maximum a person can handle standing up in a boat and still be mobile. I also ran out of water jugs. The rod was not peaked out. I think it could take 65 pounds with no problem.
