One time in Mexico I caught three big Yellowfins. That was the first time I saw the spinal tap. The deckhand cut a triangle hole on the back side on the head and then grabbed an old truck antenna (fixed, not telescopic) and ran it down the spinal cord. Those fish bleed like crazy. It works great, but I don't keep an old antenna in my boat.
