Ragman is on a distinguished road
Great thread Jeremy and welcome to 360!

I like to fish with the lightest equipment that I can reasonably get away with!
No more TE700 popper reels! LOL!!!

I love the GUSA rods because they are light due to their all graphite content.

My favorite blank for offshore topwater is the Monster Mag (30-60). It rates more towards the 50# of its range.

Txseadog is building a rod for me using the Hastings blank that is the MonMag, but it has about 4% glass instead of all graphite. I'll be putting a Stella SW8000PG on this rod.

For my jigging/spinner set up, I'm ordering the 6 foot rod from Randy at Angler's Pro Shop. Finished it will be about 5' 10" and should handle anything I can catch in the GOM.

This is my first rod that's not a GUSA or Seeker, so I'm relying on feedback that I've received from others' experience.
