Sorry to say that Mr. Williams was the lone supporter, all the other recreational for hire captains and boat owners know MPA's are the kiss of death, we are talking 20 mile wide "no fishing zones" starting at the beach and running 100 miles out. Pam Baker was one of the staunch advocates for giving the commercials an open season with IFQ's and sticking the recreationals with a 2 fish limit. Mr Williams was admonished by a few pro-recreational advocates and informed he was dancing with the devil. These groups want to see an end to fishing period and if Mr. Williams had done his homework I can assure you that he would have found out that these people in reality want him out of business.

I would also venture to say that if one partyboat operator supports this measure then most if not all would. Kind of like shrimpers or commercial snapper fisherman. They tend to vote for and support regulations that help their cause in unified blocks.
