I might talk to the store again about returning the TLD... Since I paid sticker (with the braid though) it would go a long way toward a new reel. If they won't take it back then I'll likely just keep it.

I hear you on the Avets. I have a JX that I do like. My only issues so far have been the tightening of the handle when drag is increased (likely not a big deal with the 30 since I won't be trying to squeeze every possible ounce of drag out of it!) and the drag adjustment knob on my JX is SO easy to turn, I'm afraid to bump it!

Ronnie - With the 16VSX it says 1000yds of 16, but only 525 of 80lb braid. (I'd suspect more like 800-1000yds of solid 80lb braid) Regardless, I don't see any need to go larger than a 16 for this application, do you?
