The seller (curator at museum) informed me of the history of the item over the last ninety years. He is a expert in his field. The item was a consignment to him. The museum got a commission on the sale. The item has been past down three generations and spent most of its life in a bank lock box. Sadly, that's where I'm gonna put it.
Now for the bad news. The item has a second part to it. I received detail photos last night. Looks like I'm gonna have to cash in another CD.
