I had 80lb OTI line on my Stella along with 80lb blackwater leader around 5'. The saragosa I used for only 1 run had 65lb and 80lb leader. I wish I got more chance to use the saragosa but sadly the OTI rod broke at the first guide on the first hook up. It did'nt sound nice as drag pulled like Kil said but it was smooth.
The jackal jigs work well when ripped but when fast jigged did not get as many hook ups. TJ gave me a new assist hook to test out and it was on a blue jackal I used on my first drop. That jig was never seen again after a decent run. Pink jackal also had a good hook up and busted off as that was the jig I dropped on first drop of the OTI rod and saragosa outfit when the rod guide broke.
The Hot's Wei World 48XXH rod is an awesome rod. For the weight it's very powerful but at the same time forgiving on the fisherman. I enjoyed fishing it alot and hope to jig YFT/BFT this year with it. The bend is wicked and can easily put pressure on fish. It also handled 450g very well.
For my next trip I will try to test saragosa and OTI rod out more. The OTI rod has incredible power in the blank but is not as easy on the fisherman like that of the Hot's. I am positive this rod can whip 150lb fish easily.
Overall I had a great time on the trip with Bret/Tony/CT/Chip and hope to do it again. I've got the itch and maybe I'll head to Venice next week to try to jig for YFT/BFT.
