Even under a fairly high loading the blank maintains its axial stability throughout the length of the blank. The further you move towards the tip the more difficult it becomes for the blank to maintain axial stability. This condition is exacerbated when the guides move off of the perpendicular plane. (sorry for the engineerig speak)!

On both of the 700h's that I have built this winter, the guides do not twist when loaded to 20 lbs. When that picture was taken the rod was canted to the right side. Any twisting noted is a result of the canting of the rod.
