For tuna topwater, you'll need 65# braided line and attach a 3 ft ~80# mono leader.

You'll need a reel that can handle 20-25#'s drag and hold about 300-350 yards of 65# spectra.

A spinning reel is the easiest to cast from a boat. You'll need a 6 1/2' to 7 1/2' rod. You could go conventional, it's just a lot harder to cast a 5-7 oz plug with a spinner.

There may be a place there locally that will rent a set up or check with the boat to see what kind of rigs they may have to rent that are separate from the regular boat gear.

The boat office may know of a shop locally too.
