Fisherman's Wharf out of Port Aransas has a couple of boats that are pretty awesome riding boats. If you are worried at all about comfort for wives and kids, the Scat Cat and Wharf Cat would be a good option. The boats are around 80 ft catamarans, with a very smooth ride. They have a huge galley with lots of seats and sell refreshments, sandwiches and soft drinks. The AC will also freeze your butt off.
The Scat Cat uses electric reels which makes it easy for children and women that aren't used to cranking up weights from 300 ft.
Bathrooms are very clean! and both boats have an excellent upper deck for the cruise in and out, and just watching the fishing in general.
These boats have been written off as serious sportfishing type of boats, but I highly recommend them for fun trips where it isn't all about the catching.
