Something worth mentioning is to consider selling the rod as is and buying one with the guides you want. Or perhaps buying one of the OTI blanks and have it built to your specifications. I personally do not like to take a rod apart if the guides on them are still in good shape. A rod that has wraps that are falling apart, guides that are broken but a blank action that you like a lot, personal favorite or treasured artifact may be worth the rebuild. Compare the costs of rewrap vrs the cost of a new custom rod minus the selling price of the old rod. jmho
