most the reels I buy used already have the vet wrap on the spool arbor...
I find the spectra grips it, with no concern about slipping. I have only had one reel (bass reel) slip.. I couldnt figure out what was wrong with it and gave it away... my friend later told me- and said it casts better than any other reel he had... DOH!!! I tie all my spectra straight to the spool arbor in case I get down to that knot.. I dont want a 5' piece of mono losing me a fish that may be the biggest I ever possibly catch...
