When my Saltiga 50's handle got frozen while fighting a 250 lbs yellowfin on a jig on the Qualifier 105 two years ago, I thought the combination of my poor maintenance of the reel and the enormous pressure of the fish ( the reel got really hot) caused the problem. However I experienced the same freezing problem of the handle with another Satiga reel not once, but twice after the incident. I know not many fishermen abuse reels to the limit as I do, but now I believe there is a fundamental problem with the handle.
My new Accurate 665 two-speed mysteriously increases its drag after I catch a few tuna with it.
