here ya go- I started out with a 6' piece of closet rod. But found it likes to soak up water and I had to seal the baits more than normal. Next time I will use a different wood. I cut the pieces 5" long and used a hobby lathe to shape the body. I then drilled straight thru the body with a 1/8" extra long bit. I then used a wood hole drillling bit(cant think of the name of the paddle-wheel type bit..lol) . I then used a countersink bit to put a cup in the mouth. After that, I went to the grinder and too the bottom lip off and added an angle to make it spit water a little higher and reduce drag on the bottom of the mouth.(keeps it from diving under when popping). heres the prototypes:
